Which city would it suit better than Sinop to link the past, the present and the future regarding the problematic progression of urban development?
The strategic location of the city gave it a major role throughout History from the Bronze Age to the Cold War period. However the city also had to go through hard times especially at the end of the 20th century. It is now time for a change. These series of events aim at starting a process of renewal for the city, based on its glorious and tragic past.
The process will take place as follow. The first step will consist of an international forum on 7th - 8th of September. Then several seminars and workshops will gather Sinop citizens, European and local experts alongside artists for a few days to debate about current and future issues of the city. Following the debates and seminars, an Art exhibition will be held until November 17th.

Collecting The Future project is organized by Avrupa Kültür Derneği, being supported by the program of European Union, Strengthening the Civil Society Dialogue between EU and Turkey. AltArt Foundation from Romania, Felix Meritis Foundation from Holland, Collabor.at from Austria and Nuova Icona from Italy are among the project partners. SINGIAD Sinop Young Businessmen Association and City Counsel – Youth Group are the local partners.
